The Butter Bell crock is easy to use
See how it works!
Step 1 - Prepare the Butter
Wash, clean and thoroughly dry your butter bell crock. Sit a stick of butter on your countertop and allow it to soften so that it is easy to press into the lid.
Step 2 - Pack the Butter
It's easiest to divide the stick of butter into 2 or 3 segments. Press each segment FIRMLY into the crock lid.
Step 3 - Remove Air Pockets
When filling the butter bell crock lid, it is important to make sure the butter adheres to the inside of the bell-shaped lid.
Step 4 - Fill the Base with Water
Fill the base of the crock with COLD filtered or tap water. The amount of water in the base is about 1 inch in depth or 1/3 cup. NOTE: this does not need to be exact, so long as the water covers the bell when resting in place. Change the water every 2 to 3 days with fresh cold water for best results.
Step 5 - Packed Butter Ready for Use
When packed correctly, your butter should look like this. There should be no air pockets or gaps around the interior edges. Your butter is now firmly seated into the crock lid.
Step 6 - Replace Lid into the Base
After checking to make sure your butter is properly packed into the lid, turn the lid upside down and return to the base of the crock. Your butter is safely being stored and is ready for use!
